Holy Cow

Word on the street says Xanga is making a comeback. I guess I'll have to contribute.

In other news, I'm posting a new entry just shy of the 2 year mark since my last post. And chances are...if you're reading this...you subscribed to my blog and never unsubscribed. You can also expect more banter & ranting soon!

Xanga is back! (Frank Costanza style)

I have decided that I did not want to wait for the one year anniversary of my last post to actually put something on here.  There are several epiphanies I have come up with within the past almost year.

1.  The following occurs whenever it snows or snow is moderately to heavily present on the ground:  stops signs & traffic lights are usually ignored, you can park wherever you feel like (certainly not within the parking lines), and common sense is lost by most drivers.

2.  Politically corrected-ness has gone completely out-of-control.  Pretty much anything is going to offend someone...and it was more than likely said out of "lack of being politically correct."

3.  Sensitivity training/counseling has become quite the trend for people in higher up positions i.e. Ozzie Guillen with the Chicago White Sox, the actor who plays Dr. Burke on Gray's Anatomy, former NBA player Tim Hardaway, etc.  If you say something dumb to the media and it gets hyped up, all you have to say is that you are going to receiving sensitivity counseling and everyone will be off your back in no time.

4.  Only 3 of my friends in my subscription list actually update on a fairly routine basis.  Good job...I'm not going to lie though...I rarely check Xanga anymore.

5.  Less than 5 people who subscribed to my Xanga more than over a year ago, will comment on this post despite my clever banter.

6.  I will probably never sign-up or join a major blog or journal type site again.  If I want to write about my life, I will get my own .com and make my own website.

7.  Britney Spears will do something else outrageous within the next month and it will be overplayed just so she can have some attention.

8.  I believe that the person, who made & sold Xanga, made the smartest move in his/her entire career as it is just about dead.

9.  Microsoft is stupid for introducing 5 different versions of Vista as the average consumer has no idea what they're buying in the first place so the 3 top-end versions are obsolete to 85% of people actually buying it.  Plus, Vista will not take-off until 2008...at least.  (For most of you that was geek talk...my apologies.)

10.  This will probably be my last post for at least 6 months...if I post before then it will be because I am that bored.

If you did read this Xanga post (I refuse to refer to it as a "blog"), thank you for stopping by.  You either received an e-mail because you subscribed to me that way or you were extremely bored and actually checked Xanga.

Xanga is almost dead but it's hanging in there.  I hope epiphany 5 is wrong...please prove me wrong.  I also would like to note that in the past year or so I have had more epiphanies than just 10...I just can't remember them.  Have a great year!

Edit:

11.  I will never join "Xanga Premium."

So this isn't quite the formulated post as I would have liked, but I'm sure this will do for those of you who still follow this little Xanga space.  Or you're still subscribed to my Xanga.

I've been thinking about this for a little bit...basically the past several days when Israel and the Hezbollah militants started throwing down.  I find it very humorous how a majority of the world dislikes the United States of America; yet when a war occurs, the rest of world wants to see how we react so they can react accordingly.  Or, they want the USA to back them.  Funny.

One of the things that was on my list for formulating an intelligent post for was on the Immigration Strike Day.  I'm all for immigrants...I really am.  However, if you are an ILLEGAL immigrant, that's where I start to have a problem.  First off, all of these illegals who are coming together in mass groups to protest against America because we won't give them certain benefits...really?  Show me your green card and then maybe I'll listen to you.  I know that sounds a bit ignorant, but I have justification. My dad went through then entire immigration process to become a nationalized citizen.  My dad went through years of waiting to gain the rights of an "American."  But here are all of these people who get into the country and want instantaneous American rights.  I'm sorry...go through the waiting process, pay your taxes, and learn the American language and then I'll be glad to support you.

Well...I know you all have missed my ranting and raving, but have no fear, Xanga has not died completely.  Perhaps, I'll have more to get off my chest in the near future.  Special shout-out to all of my supporters!

I'm coming back to Xanga in a surge.  Coldplay was absolutely phenomenal.  I will be posting pics as soon as I get some time to view, crop, and organize...repeat as necessary.

Hope everyone is having a great week.  The weather has been amazing.  Let me know if I can be praying for you.
